The day ended up being more hectic than I had hoped, but I kind of expected that. We managed to shoot 600 feet of film in around 9 hours, over 3 locations (including two exteriors).

Our actors were fantastic, a lot of fun to work with and at the same time amazingly professional. We had almost no bad takes, their continuity was amazing and the level of acting was superb. I was so happy. The rest of the crew who helped were absolutely amazing and there is no way we would have come close to getting the film shot in the time, and at the level that I hope it is without them.

All filming was done in Brooklyn. Our outside locations were at the Brooklyn Heights Promenade and around Greene street. For our interior shooting we invaded Bradley’s cosy little apartment, quickly taking over with cases of lighting, camera gear, crew, food being thrown around, shouting that must surely have confused the neighbours

Now a wrap up on the technical side. The film was shot on B&W 16mm film using a hand wind Bolex H16. This had some pros and some cons. The main pro is the straight up coolness on shooting with one of these cameras, they are a lot of fun, but there are some limitations. The biggest hurdle was not having the motor drive. Whilst being limited to about 25 secs per shot helps keep a healthy discipline around how you shoot it can be limiting. In the most emotional scene of the movie we realised that there is no way we could shoot the whole scene properly in just 25 secs, so we will have to be a bit creative in the editing. The most disconcerting thing about the hand crank though is I could hear the camera slowing down on certain takes after about the 15 second mark. I wont know until I get the film back from the lab, but I have a feeling the film may have some ‘creative’ timing in it.

Special thanks to my crew -

Trapped in an abusive situation, when she is finally backed in to a corner she turns the object that signals her final despair into the instrument of revenge and ultimately her freedom.

Scripts, storyboards and shot-lists are all finally completed, and I have managed to secure two amazing actors to play my leads.

The female lead will be played by the lovely and talented Danielle Trzcinski, whilst her tormentor will be played by the versatile and bearded Dan Dobransky.
